ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT APPLICABLE TO LIVE ANIMAL/S AND BIRD/S
Importation of birds listed under the endangered list of C.I.T.E.S (Convention Of International Trade In Endangered Species) are required to obtain an appropriate C.I.T.E.S certification from the authorized government agency before applying for an import permit.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT ONLY TO BUFFALO, CATTLE, GOAT AND OTHER RUMINANT (for slaughter or breeding)
- The applicant must be reqistered under the company act and registered with the department of agriculture.
- The applicant must have evidence of sound financial standing to complete the transaction of importation.
- The applicant must have proper facilities to accommodate the animals.
- The applicant must have proper slaughtering facilities, if the animals are intended for slaughter.
- The applicant must be able to provide sufficient animal feed.
- The applicant must make available proper transportation for the animals.
CONDITIONS FOR QUARANTINE
| BUFFALO, CATTLE, GOAT, DEER, SHEEP |
Free from quarantine, Only allowed to be imported from countries which are free from foot and mout disease (FMD), Bovine Spongiform and enchephalities (BSE) and anthrax as well as other dangerous diseases specificed from time to time by the Department of Agriculture. |

Importation is prohiibited. |
| HORSE |
Free from quarantine. Not permitted to be imported before getting approval in wriited statement from the Jerudong Royal Polo Club |
| BIRDS |
Free from quarantine. Importation is prohibitied if epidemic diseases exist in the exporting country for such as Bird Flu (Avian Flu) or any other diseases of animals or human, which are confirmed or suspected to be from bird's origin. |
| CAT AND DOG |
Quarantine requirements are as stipulated in the Department Cirucular 9/1973 |
| TABLE EGGS |
Not allowed to be imported except under certain cirucumtances with special approved from the Director of Agriculture. |
| FERTILISED EGGS |
Only allowed to be imported if necessary from countries from diseases such as Avian Flu or any other disease related to birds and hazardous to human health. |
For animal(s) that are imported without any required and complete documents, the veterinary authority has the right to make instructions either to destroy it or to be sent back to its country of origin, or anything that is thought to be appropriate by the veterinary officer.
The Department of Agriculture can prohibit improtation of any of the above if it is necessary due to health/disease reason.
