PARTICULARS OF IMPORTER
A. Import of Vegetables and Fruits Originated from Sabah and
Sarawak
The importer must complete a prescribed form and disclose
informations on
- Description of the imported items and amount
- The name and address of the source of supply
- All documents must be in original copies
Mode of Delivery :
All vegetables and fruits destined to Brunei Darussalam must have
valid ndentification tags issued by the FAMA of Malaysia and
appropriately packed. The tags and packages must have the
following information.
A. Information on The Identification Tags
- Serial number
- Farmer's name or code
- Type of vegetables
- Net weight
- Exporters's name of code
- Date of package
The Following Are Deemed as Appropriate Packaging:
- Packaging should be in cardboard boxes, plastic baskets, or other similarly suitable containers.
- Different types of vegetables are packed separately. Each package should not exceed 30 kg.
- Use plastic or paper material for protection layers and covers, but planting materials are not permissible.
B Import of Vegetables and Fruits from Other Countries
The importer must complete a prescribed form and disclose information
on :
- Description of the import items and amount.
- The name and address of the source of supply.
- All documents must be in original copies.
All vegetables and fruits destined to Brunei Darussalam must be appropriately packaged, stated on the package information on name and address of the supplier.
ENTRY POINTS
The points of entry for import must be stated. Importer must produce all relevant documents for inspections at the entry point. The relevant documents include:
- Import Permit issued by the Department ofAgriculture .
- Phytosanitary Certificate issued by the country of export.
- All vegetables and fruits must be appropriately packed, with identification tags that contain informations written in the Import Permit
Vegetables and fruits will be subjected to inspections by the Custom and Excise Department and the Department of Agriculture at the point of entry.
The Department of Agriculture may take samples of vegetables and fruits for chemical analysis.
Permission for entry will only be granted upon satisfactory outcome of inspections.
