ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Agricutural Engineering Services Division is responsible for coordination, facilitation of agricultural infrastructure development in the Agricultural Development Area (ADA) and Department of Agriculture and Agrifood (DOAA) premises. These responsibilities cover services on various operations including mechanical and agricultural engineering supports, development and maintenance of agriculture infrastructures such as building, access farm road, drainage and irrigation, as well as facilitation of electrical and domestic water requirements by farmers with relevant authorities.

This Division is also responsible for promoting and introducing new and modern agriculture technologies to local farmers.

 

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF UNITS UNDER AGRICULTURE ENGINEERING SERVICES DIVISION

  • Infrastructure Maintenance – plan and execute maintenance/ upgrading works to existing infrastructures in the Agricultural Development Areas in all four districts.
  • Drainage and Irrigation – plan, manage and maintain drainage and irrigation projects in all Agricultural Development Areas in Brunei.
  • Mechanical Engineering – provide services such as repair works to all DOAA transportation vehicles, agricultural machineries and implements, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Project Monitoring – to coordinate, collect and compile all relevant information on each and every project under Agriculture Engineering Services Division including RKN projects.
  • Building Maintenance – provide civil engineering maintenance services and telecommunication works for all buildings under DOAA.
  • Infrastructure Development - provide civil engineering services work for facilitating farm infrastructures under DOAA which involves managing and coordinating projects under the National Development Projects (RKN) and other projects.
